Action Menu - Dome - Track Sky
Previous Top Next

This command synchronizes the dome’s position with the movement of the sky. It is useful for visual observation or in a casewhen no telescope is connected.

In a given time interval due to the dome’s precision settings dome is rotated by the specified angle  untill full rotation within 24 hours.

In the Config window on Program panel you can adjust the accuracy of the dome’s position by changing the value in the Position Compare Precision field.

Tips: If you do not have a telescope with GoTo function, select a telescope simulator (Simulator) in the ASCOM and instead of using the Track Sky command use Sync with Scope command indicating an observed object in the sky atlas (eg the Sky6 or Starry Night). In the sky atlas configure the ScopeSimulator as a working telescope which is connected to it. In that way, you will be able to indicate selected objects in the atlas by the mouse, and the dome will automatically follow  their movement. Do not forget to exequte the Slave to Object command to shift your simulated telescope to the chosen point in the sky.
